ANNUAL REPORT
WHO WE ARE
We are Northshore
Area Families who want to improve the quality of education by fundraising
and then distributing those funds to the school district primarily through
district and teacher grants.

Founded in 1995,
the Northshore Public Education Foundation (NPEF) is a non-profit
organization that raises money to fund academic excellence for every
student in the Northshore School District. NPEF is dedicated to enhancing
learning opportunities for all Northshore students. The Foundation
operates separately from the Northshore School District and is funded
solely by private contributions. NPEF partners with the Northshore School
District, individual schools, PTSAs, and the business community to:
-
Achieve Academic Excellence
-
Support Teacher Innovation and Training
-
Help All Students Succeed
HOW WE RAISE
MONEY FOR NORTHSHORE STUDENTS
The Foundation’s
two major fundraisers are the “Calling for Kids” phonathon campaign”
(November) and the “Light A Fire for Learning” community luncheon (May).
Additional funds come from workplace giving campaigns, corporate
partners hips, and the generosity of hundreds of individual and corporate
donors.
WHERE THE
MONEY GOES (2004-05)
Responding to
district-wide funding needs identified by the School District, NPEF
purchased 122 elementary level hands-on science kits ($80,000) and 2240
items for junior and senior high school science labs ($30,000). The
Foundation also awarded 23 teacher grants to fund individual classroom
projects ($14,000).
